Dr. Nuwong Chollacoop, Head of Renewable Energy Laboratory, National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC)
After 10 years of B.Sc. and Ph.D. education in the U.S., Dr Nuwong has returned to Thailand in 2004 and started working at National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) in the field of biofuel for transportation ranging from production, characterization, standardization to utilization in engine. He has involved in numerous research projects domestically and internationally. His research networks include National Institute of Advanced Industrials Science and Technology (AIST), Japan Automotive Research Institute (JARI), Waseda University, Nihon University and Tokyo Institute of Technology from Japan under financial support from New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organiation (NEDO), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and New Energy Foundation (NEF), as well as Institut de Recherches sur la Catalyse et l’Environnement de Lyon from France, RWTH-Aachen University from Germany. He has served as national and international experts for Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT) of United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), and GMS Environment Operations Center (EOC) of Asian Development Bank (ADB) in the area of sustainable biofuel for transportation. He has received 2009 Green Talents award from Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), Germany and selected by Global Young Academy (GYA) for ASEAN Science Leadership Program in 2016. Recently, he has worked under ASEAN German Technical Cooperation (GIZ) on Energy Efficiency and Climate Change Mitigation in the Land Transport Sector with a focus on fuel ecnomoy initative. He has co-authored over 31 international journal publications with h-index of 12 from Scopus.
